The 2020 Thirlstane Cup has been run and won with Richard Lewis taking home the trophy with a comfortable 5&4 victory over Shane Wootton.
Wootton got the jump on Lewis winning the opening hole of the contest but it was all one traffic from their as Lewis played some magnificent golf and preceeded to win six of the next 8 holes to take a commanding 5 hole lead through the front nine, they traded blows over the next four holes with Wootton win the 10th, Lewis the 11th, an excellent birdie from Wootton down the 12th but Lewis responded to win the 13th. It was dormie 5 and Lewis even though he drowned his drive into the banana lake he was left with 2 putts to seal victory, leaving his lengthy first putt 2 foot short he calmly sunk his second for an outstanding victory.
